	The Private school was getting to the Max with the electric service draw and was looking for a way to air-condition the dinning hall and not add to the load on the service. The Madsen Design team came up with an Ice Storage System. A new designed chiller from York and the Calmac Ice Storage system met the challenge. Madsen's unique methods of design using Direct Digital Controls bring all the new mechanical components together to make ice at night.

	Special piping and control valves direct the 26 deg. Glycol solution into the Calmac tanks to freeze the water and make the ICE for cooling the building the next day. All these items put together give the school the great savings and cut the need to increase the use of day time electric. Schools and colleges are a great place to install this technology. This system will give most locations PECO's off peak Thermal Rider which gives customers special rates and lets you run the chiller until 9:45 am each day for extra ice making at the lower rate and no demand charge.
